As the Executive Chef you will train and manage kitchen personnel and supervise/coordinate all related culinary activities; estimate food consumption and purchase of materials, select and develop recipes, standardize recipes to ensure consistent quality, establish presentation technique and quality standards, plan and price menus, ensures proper equipment operation/maintenance and ensures proper safety and sanitation in kitchen. The Executive Chef directly supervises all kitchen personnel with responsibility for hiring, discipline, and performance reviews. Reports to the General Manager.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor\\\'s degree or related culinary degree and 5+ years of culinary management experience in a premier Club setting. The ability to manage in a diverse environment with focus on member services is essential to success in this role. Previous experience with food & labor cost controls, menu development, and development of a culinary team is preferred.

Job Description: Lincoln Land Community College (LLCC) serves a 4000 square mile district at its main campus in Springfield, the vibrant capital city of Illinois. Springfield is centrally located between Chicago and St. Louis and is home to the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum as well as numerous historic sites, cultural events, vibrant business and medical communities. Numerous “white table cloth” chef owned restaurants and full service hotels thrive. LLCC also provides educational services at the East Springfield Campus and the Capital City Training Center, both in Springfield, and at Regional Education Centers in Taylorville, Jacksonville, Beardstown, Litchfield and Hillsboro, Illinois. LLCC enrollment for 2007-2008 was approximately 17,000 full- and part-time credit and non-credit students.



The college is seeking applicants for a full-time, tenure track faculty position in Culinary Arts beginning fall semester of 2009. LLCC is seeking innovative instructors who place student success and student learning as top priorities. The college is particularly interested in applicants who demonstrate an interest in active learning approaches, student assessment techniques, and utilizing technology in the classroom. The college is also interested in individuals with a commitment to departmental, institutional, and community service. Duties will include teaching 15 contact hours per semester. Some opportunities exist for overload, community education, and summer teaching assignments.



An A.A.S. degree or equivalent in a related field is required with a Bachelor’s degree preferred. ACF certified or certified eligible preferred. Occupational work experience of at least 2000 hours in a field related to the discipline is also required. Teaching experience, especially at a community college, is viewed favorably. Qualified applicants will be required to display cooking, lecture, and demonstration skills.



Starting salary is determined by education level and experience and will be between $32,639 and $63,327. The college provides an excellent fringe benefit package and is supportive of faculty development. Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background check and drug screen.
