Happy New Year, and Special Greetings to one and all!
I thought I’d send a reminder—to bring up the level of excitement and anticipation for the Windy City’s 2010 Annual Gala and Awards Presentation at Gibson’s Steakhouse on Rush on Monday, February 8th!
First, we’ll have great food and service from Chef Randy Waidner, CEC, and his wonderful staff! Gibson’s reputation is among the best in Chicago, not to mention the whole country. We are honored that they will host us on this night! Our many members and friends have all joined in to make sure this will be a night to remember!
Steve Dolinsky, the “Hungry Hound” will be our Keynote Speaker—so many of us watch him eat at all the best places, and we find out about those places through him! I know he will have great things to share with us!
We will certainly recap the year’s highest honors and events, as well as look to our Windy City future—with our membership growing and so many new members coming on board to work on committees, forwarding our great ideas into reality—our future is as bright as the snow falling all over our fair city! Our members will be recognized for their achievements, including teamwork, individual certifications, and membership dedication. And, being that this dinner is a fundraiser,
there will be great raffle offerings for you to spend your bucks and test your luck.
So, now the reality. Gibson’s has 200 seats for us. We’ve said it before, but it has never been enforced as it will be this time. You MUST make your reservation online to make sure you have a seat! I know that we are going to sell out on this event because it’s at Gibson’s, and we’re all looking forward to that great steak dinner and those martinis! This is one event that absolutely NO WALK-INS will be admitted. When the Sold Out sign goes up on the website, no doubt we will have disappointed people, but we must stand firm and professional, and honor Gibson’s for what they are doing for ACF Windy City Chefs. By the way, the number of tickets sold is over 100 at this time, and that’s half….and sales close next Monday, February 1st!
So, let’s get going! Log your professional self onto our website. Plug in your ACF ID number and our chapter password, and get out your credit card and get yourself reserved for this great event! You will be e-mailed a receipt and confirmation from both Chef Zajac and Chef Reed. AND, I will personally guarantee that nobody will be admitted to the Dining Room without a paid ticket. Anyone who knows me should know that, as a past Sergeant-at-Arms, you won’t get past me—and our Board will stand firm as well.

For those present at the meeting last night at Labriola (WOW, wasn’t that GREAT?!), the free classes to sign up for at FENI are on Sunday, February 14th (and I guess that’s why they are not full!).
