Frontera Scholarship at Kendall College
Chicago Recipient to Receive Full Tuition to Study Culinary Arts

CHICAGO, April 3, 2008 – Through the generosity of the Frontera Scholarship Fund, a Mexican-American Chicago Public Schools (CPS) graduate will be given the opportunity to pursue his/her dream of a career in the culinary arts at Chicago’s own Kendall College, one of the nation’s premiere culinary degree programs. The scholarship will cover direct tuition costs for the college’s two-year associate’s degree program in culinary arts or baking and pastry.

2008 Acadiana Culinary Classic

DEAR ACF Members,

This year’s Classic will be held Monday May 5th, 2008

With our new administration in place and the expertise and help from our past
administrations, we are pleased to announce our BEST OF SHOW winner for
2008 will receive $10,000.00 Dollars (Ten Thousand Dollars).

You can download the Classic entry package, BUT YOU MUST MAIL-IN your
Entry PACKET Information. Submit your recipes in digital format (CD) in the event changes need to be made after packet submission.

I urge you to read over the entry package in its entirety at least twice in order
to understand your responsibilities as an entrant. We must all work together as a
team to make this classic one of the best ever, and to show our sponsors and our guests that we are professionals and are the best in our field .

United States Potato Board Stirs Up Creativity with Recipe Contest
 
US PotatoThe United States Potato Board is inviting professional chefs to show off their state's unique cuisine - and their favorite potato dish - by entering the U.S. Potato Board's 50 States of Potato Recipe Contest.

 

The Grand prize winner will win a trip to Napa Valley to attend the World's of Flavor Conference at the Culinary Institute of America at Greystone in November. Additionally, the first prize winner will receive $500, the second prize winner will receive $250 and a winner from each state will win a Healthy MR. POTATO HEAD® character.

 

From Wisconsin Cheese Mashed Potatoes to Alaskan Salmon Potato Cakes, every area has a recipe that best showcases the versatile potato in the entrant's home state's cuisine. Recipes will be judged on their regional flare, creativity and originality, taste and presentation.
